Thin-film organic coatings are critical components in any bio-sensing device, as they must be capable of linking the chip substrate and the entities to be analyzed.
To this end, a molecule or a polymer capable of providing good adhesion to the substrate and a good accessibility of the coupling groups needs to be applied. The bio-sensing coating technologies used at SuSoS embody two further, important advantages: the reduction of non-specific, background signals (non-fouling) and an application procedure that is industrially compatible.
Depending on the requirements for stability, the definition of the substrate type, and the targeted binding chemistry, the following options are available:
