Thin-film organic coatings are critical components in any bio-sensing device, as they must be capable of linking the chip substrate and the entities to be analyzed.

To this end, a molecule or a polymer capable of providing good adhesion to the substrate and a good accessibility of the coupling groups needs to be applied.
